Improving the human-animal bond through education.
Animal Encounters Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 2003. We are dedicated to helping native, exotic and domestic species in need. In addition to providing a safe and permanent placement for animals in need, we also focus on improving the human-animal bond though education. Our passion is to be a resource for all those that help zoological species. Our goal is to provide you with tips and resources to help you and the animals you care for every day.
The Sanctuary has three more sites that support different veterinary and animal related topics.

Hi There! My name is Fawn!
& I love working dogs.
I have spent my entire professional life in the animal industry. I have degrees in Exotic Animal Training & Management, Animal Behavior Veterinary Technology and Management. I have trained all types of species, from birds to reptiles, primates to bobcats - but dogs are my favorite. This blog is designed to offer insights and solutions to help both dog and handler alike. Thanks for joining us! Welcome.
"Working dogs are truly remarkable animals, with a unique ability to bring out the best in their human partners. Whether they are service dogs assisting people in day-to-day life, therapy dogs bringing comfort to those in hospitals and nursing homes, or search and rescue dogs saving lives in emergency situations, dogs that serve in the police and military branches - these loyal and hardworking animals make a profound difference in the lives of those they serve. But behind every great working dog is an equally dedicated human partner who cares for, trains, and works alongside their furry companion. These individuals are committed to ensuring that their dogs have the skills and training they need to excel in their roles, and they are willing to put in the time and effort to build the strong bond that is necessary for a successful working relationship. As we honor the contributions of working dogs and their human partners, let us remember that they are truly a team, working together to make the world a better place. Whether you are a working dog handler, a volunteer at a local animal shelter, a veterinary professional or simply an admirer of these amazing animals, take inspiration from their dedication and hard work. Remember that with a little bit of training and a lot of love, anything is possible. This blog is dedicated to you. "
